Today the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have published their reports into health care trusts throughout the country. West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust which includes the major acute care centre, Watford General Hospital, has improved from having two scores of weak to being good in Financial Management and fair at Quality of Services.
Sal Brinton, prospective Liberal Democrat MP for Watford said: 'This is good news for the hospital and the trust, to be able to deliver the new Watford Health Campus the hospital really had to pull its socks up and deliver a step change from their previous two years of having been weak, especially in the area of Financial Management.
'I am sure the hospital and health trust will be slightly disappointed in the scores: when you drill down into the three areas that make up Quality of Service, they achieved a 'Good' for national priorities, almost met all the indicators on Meeting Core Standards but only achieved half of the indicators on Existing Commitments.
'I hope the hospital and trust can build on these scores for next years inspection results so we can really see a good move towards the new Watford Health Campus.'
